17th Annual Cantina Kids Fun Run Has Record Breaking Year Supporting Pediatric Emergency Services at Saratoga Hospital

The 17th Annual Cantina Kids Fun Run drew 865 runners and raised $104,000 to support pediatric emergency services at Saratoga Hospital – bringing the total raised to date $1,004,000.
On Sunday, June 1, the run in Congress Park marked a major milestone, as the event officially surpassed $1 million in total funds raised since its inception in 2008. The community’s ongoing support was evident throughout the weekend, with many Saratoga Hospital employees and local volunteers dedicating their time to make the event a meaningful experience for families. The presenting sponsor for the event was New Country Motor Car Group.
“This year’s turnout was truly inspiring. We saw so many returning families and lots of new faces,” said Heath Ames of Cantina, who created the event with her husband back in 2008. “We started this race hoping to make a small difference, and now here we are, celebrating over $1 million raised for pediatric emergency services. None of it would be possible without our incredible sponsors, participants, and volunteers.”
“Raising over $1 million for pediatric emergency services is a testament to the incredible generosity of our community,” said President and Saratoga Hospital CEO, Jill VanKuren. “Because of this event, we are better equipped to provide the very best care to the children who rely on our services.
Each year, Saratoga Hospital cares for more than 10,000 children through our emergency care services. Pediatric patients require special equipment, expertise and responsiveness. The Cantina Kids Fun Run proceeds go directly to pediatric related training, certifications, equipment and technology, enabling Saratoga Hospital to provide a high level of care to pediatric patients and their families.
